Newborn Photography FAQ
Tulsa & Broken Arrow Newborn Photography Questions Answered
Choosing a newborn photographer comes with a lot of questions , especially when this may be your first baby. Below are answers to the most common questions families ask when planning a newborn session with Wendy Darling Photography.

When Should I Book My Newborn Session?
The best time to book your newborn photographer is during your second trimester (around 20–28 weeks). This allows us to reserve space around your due date and ensures availability during that ideal newborn window.

When Are Newborn Photos Taken?
Newborn sessions are typically photographed within the first 7–14 days after birth, when babies are sleepiest and naturally curl into those classic poses.
If your baby arrives early or later than expected, we simply adjust your scheduled session date.

Where Is Your Studio Located?
Our private newborn photography studio is located in Broken Arrow, Oklahoma, just minutes from Tulsa and easily accessible from Bixby, Jenks, Owasso, Sapulpa, Coweta, and surrounding communities.

Do I Need to Bring Anything to the Session?
No. everything is provided for you.
Our studio is fully stocked with wraps, layers, textures, and posing elements carefully chosen to create timeless newborn portraits. We also offer a curated client closet for mothers and siblings to simplify wardrobe planning.
Parents only need to bring baby essentials like diapers, bottles, or pacifiers if used.

How Long Does a Newborn Session Last?
Newborn sessions are intentionally slow-paced and typically last 2–3 hours.
This allows time for feeding, soothing, and safely posing your baby without rushing.

Is Newborn Photography Safe?
Yes. Safety is always the top priority.
Newborn posing is done gently and only in positions that are natural and supported. Sessions are baby-led, meaning we follow your baby’s comfort and needs throughout.
Our studio environment is controlled, sanitized, and designed specifically for newborn sessions.

Do You Offer Lifestyle-Style Photos Too?
Yes. While we specialize in styled newborn portraits, we also have a lifestyle-inspired space within the studio designed to create softer, connection-focused images.
This allows families to enjoy both timeless posed portraits and natural lifestyle moments during the same session.

Can Parents and Siblings Be Included?
Absolutely. Many families choose to include parent and sibling images as part of their newborn session.
These portraits are guided to feel natural, connected, and cohesive with the overall style of your gallery.

What Should We Wear?
We recommend simple, neutral clothing that complements the timeless style of the session.
Our client closet is available to help mothers and children choose pieces that photograph beautifully without the stress of shopping.

Do You Also Offer Maternity Photography?
Yes. Maternity sessions are typically scheduled between 28–34 weeks and can be planned alongside your newborn session to document the full journey into your baby’s first year.
